Most of our trips work pretty well. We're generally fairly lucky. But this one seems to have worked spectacularly well, and we're both quite sorry to be leaving this little cocoon of wonderfulness.

Here's a rundown of the delights of Miri:

The friend who supplied all the yummy cakes the other day kindly gave us a ride to the airport this afternoon (and more cake...) I have to report that the salted-egg cheesecake didn't make it as far as the plane...:

There are a number of things I didn't photo, but should mention:

-- The Pullman experience... I feel they pulled out all the stops this time, and it was a nice bit of luxury.
-- Our amazing last hotel lunch: Ayam berempah, with kerupuk, fresh veggies, acar, sambal, and rice, plus drink and fruit. Super-tasty, and excellent value.
-- Jolene's butter cake...
-- Daily Mart, a convenience store that sells a much wider range of food than the usual chips and biscuits.
-- The way it's much easier to get Grabs in Miri, and a traffic flow that is SOOO much better than ours...

All up, this was a little break that was relaxing and heart-warming, and we're very grateful for that.
